You are welcome in this space. Every painting is a captured moment, the essence of a special, spiritual, natural place. When I paint, I make a deep, peaceful connection with the world. I hope you feel this connection through my paintings while you are here.
Welcome.

I started exhibiting my work when I was a young teenager in the 1980's in the United States and have exhibited my drawings and paintings regularly ever since. Exhibitions and collaborations give art life. This is a selection of exhibitions from 2020 - 2022. Additional projects: Creation of an exhibition with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra at Boxgrove Priory in March 2020 in collaboration with the composer, Nathan James. Also: Artists Residency 2020-2022 at the South Downs Youth Hostel Association, creation of a barn-wall sized mural painted with a live audience and watched world-wide live on instagram and raising over £5000 for the YHA through rescuing and cleaning oil paintings which were auctioned in partnership with Gorringes Auctions in Lewes.
Afterlight
Oxmarket Contemporary
Chichester, England
24 May - 5 June 2022
Two series of paintings made four years apart - one series acting as the memory, the afterlight of the other. The early paintings are adjusted, altered, revealing their echo.

The Afterlight exhibition is inspired by a quote from the book, Anne of Green Gables, describing the Canadian landscape. “The sun had set some time since, but the landscape was still clear in the mellow afterlight.” Lucy Maud Montgomery.
The Afterlight series celebrates the landscape as we remember it long after a visit, describing how a place belongs to us and we belong to it. “These paintings have been made from memories of wonderful days out in Sussex, mingling echos of sunshine and laughter with oil and canvas.” said Ashley.
